PNDC Smart Grid Comms & Cyber Security Workshop

PNDC workshop in Smart Grid Communications & Cyber Security

PNDC is an established whole energy systems research, test and demonstration environment, supporting the development and deployment of novel energy and transport technologies. Established in 2013 as one of the University of Strathclyde’s industry-facing innovation centres.

PNDC is a whole energy systems research, test and demonstration facility with a focus on the de-risking and acceleration of novel electricity, heat and transport systems that have the potential to make a material contribution to the realisation of net zero emissions.

With more than a decade of innovation, PNDC is actively working in the latest Smart Grid communications and security technologies such as next-generation communication networks (i.e. Private 5G, SD-WAN, MPLS, fibre networks and IoT), virtualisations, Digital Security By Design, Cloud security and deception security solution.

The PNDC workshop in Comms and cyber security for critical infrastructure aims to bring together utility operators, academic institutions, industry associations, and regulators along with the technology and telecoms providers to discuss challenges, share knowledge and present solutions needed to deliver secure, robust and reliable services to the future of the whole energy systems and help shaping the future of global energy solutions.

The fourth edition of the PNDC workshop inside the IEEE Smartnets conference will be held virtually during the main event (i.e., IEEE International Conference on Smart Applications, Communications and Networking (SmartNets 2024 Harrisonburg/Washington DC -USA) on Thursday the 30th of May 2024.

The workshop will be an industry-centred event featuring the latest communications and cyber security challenges and promises in various energy sectors and  applications. The workshop will provide a platform for the attendees from the industry, academia, government bodies, service and technology providers, integrators and vendors to collaborate, exchange ideas and present the latest solutions and innovative ideas in the comms and cyber security for critical infrastructure. .
